Chanel — Vamp

Like a fine wine. Not necessarily because it gets better with age (although one could argue this for any Chanel product), but mainly just because Chanel's Vamp is the color of wine and oh so sweet!

First let me tell you a story about how this beautiful Chanel color graced my presence:

This story begins with yet another story, which is called Alexander's Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day, about a boy who has a horrible day.

I went to sleep with gum in my mouth and now there's gum in my hair and when I got out of bed this morning I tripped on the skateboard and by mistake I dropped my sweater in the sink while the water was running and I could tell it was going to be a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day.

This is exactly the kind of day I was having.

When I arrived home from this horrible day, I found a package sitting on my bedroom floor:

I hadn't ordered anything, so I was surprised and also curious to what was inside.  I quickly opened it.

Inside, I found this:

and my response was this:

(So, Gloss and I love cats.  So what?!)

My day was turning up!

Upon further inspection:

Chanel nail polish in Vamp and Blue Satin!  A belated holiday gift from some family friends (thank you)!

Now, I could spend the rest of my night in bed watching brainless reality television, while drinking wine and painting my nails!

A therapeutic ending to my terrible, no good day.

Here is the final product for Chanel's Vamp (Blue Satin to come soon):

(Vamp is quite a dark color.  This picture was taken in full sunlight.)

Furthermore, these two new additions decidedly increase the caliber of my collection, not unlike Gloss' decadent collection.

A happy ending, indeed :)
