Sinful Colors — Hit or Miss?

By now you all know how much I enjoy finding affordable, but good quality nail polish. Ok ok, I splurge once in a while too; and when I say "once in a while," I mean once a week ;)

So you can imagine my glee when I stumbled upon Sinful Colors, $1.99/bottle nail polish you can find at most drug stores.  They come in a large variety of interesting colors, have beautiful packaging, and are even poor and starving students like myself can buy a cart load if we so desire.

And sometimes I do desire.

Needless to say, I have a number of Sinful Colors by now.  Recently, I have been trying them out and the best way I can sum them up is to say, "hit or miss."

Some of the colors are beautiful and easy to apply, while others are just plain annoying.

For example, Sinful Colors' Hot Spot was a hit!  Easy to apply, great color, beautiful wear.

(two coats of polish.  Great Blue!)

And now for a miss; a big painful miss.  Sinful Colors' Pull Over in the bottle looks like a jewel toned yellow, with a shade of orange to it.....just the color I had been searching for.  However, this is a streaky mother and still looked awful after three coats!  Not happy with it.  Also, I could not find a pic of the bottle online, so it would not surprise me if it was discontinued.

(Little blurry, but you can see the streaky parts.)

Then, another hit!  Sinful Colors' Snow Me White- probably my favorite one so far!  Just one thick coat, and voila!  Beautiful and easy to apply!

(Bit of a jenky paint job on that middle finger, but you get the point.  I am using this white as a base for an upcoming tutorial.....stay tuned.)

In addition, I have a couple of the Sinful Color Nail Art polishes, which have thin brushes for creating fun nail designs.  However, I am not entirely sold on these, as the two I have are incredibly streaky, which makes them difficult to see over your base color.

All by way of saying, if you are going to buy Sinful Colors, do so because they are affordable and they have some great colors, but don't hold your breath for amazing quality polish.

You win some, you lose some.

XOXO, Varnish.
